Occupational Therapy Assistant
Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy
Isabel is a certified occupational therapy assistant at More Than Speech. She holds her certification to practice occupational therapy through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy and is licensed to practice occupational therapy in the state of Florida.
Isabel has gained a multitude of experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings including public schools, private outpatient clinics, and private practice. She has had the opportunity to professionally work with and provide interventions to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Charge syndrome, delayed milestones, lack of coordination, sensory processing difficulties and more. Prior to becoming a COTA, Isabel has gained experience working with children as a preschool teacher, summer camp counselor, and volunteering at multiple orphanages in Mexico, Haiti and Hawaii. Isabel is a certified feeding therapist with AEIOU Systematic Approach to Pediatric Feeding and has also received hands-on training in early intervention, Handwriting Without Tears (HWT), and total sensory integration.
Isabel’s goal is to help children make improvements that will promote independence and undoubtedly change their life while fostering a positive and engaging relationship with her clients. She is dedicated to providing a highly personalized approach tailored to fit each child's individual needs.
