Kyla is a certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at More Than Speech and holds a license through the Department of Health to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Florida. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree with a graduation date of May 2022 from the University of Central Florida to become a speech-language pathologist.

Kyla has experience with children with varying disabilities within a variety of settings such as private clinics, private schools, and public schools. While pursuing higher education, Kyla also practiced as a one-on-one tutor for elementary and middle school students. She is knowledgeable with assisting children with regulation difficulties and applying strategies to facilitate group and individual therapy with various populations. Specifically, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community, Individuals with Cochlear Implants, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Central Auditory Processing Disorders. Additionally, she has extensive experience treating children with articulation, language, fluency disorders, social communication, cognitive-communication delays/disorders.

Her clinical expertise has been shaped by multiple clinical mentors and supervisors.
She is avidly continuing her education to better serve the needs of her clients by continuing her training in a variety of different therapeutic approaches. She has received hands-on training in the foundations of PROMPT© techniques, Oral Placement Therapy (OPT), Lindamood-Bell reading programs, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), and completion of Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP).

With her knowledge of evidence-based practice, clinical experiences, and holding the values of the families she serves at heart, Kyla provides high-quality individualized speech and language therapy. Her mission in therapy is to encourage a child’s engagement with activities that are intrinsically motivating to them to support their participation, independence, and overall growth!
