Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders

Amanda is a certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at More Than Speech and holds a license through the Department of Health to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Florida. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Minor in Psychology.

Throughout her undergraduate experience, Amanda participated in numerous volunteer opportunities working with people of various age groups and settings. She expanded her knowledge of providing speech-language interventions to people of diverse backgrounds through the Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida, the Aphasia Family, and the Brain Fitness Foundation.

Amanda has worked with various ages and communication disorders and has found her passion working with children. She has gained professional experience working in a variety of settings including public schools, private practices, and daycares. She has had the privilege and opportunity to work providing interventions to a wide range of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, stuttering, developmental delays, voice disorders, expressive and receptive language disorders, language delays, articulation/phonological disorders and more.

Amanda strives to provide a personalized play-based approach to every session to accommodate each child's specific needs and personalities. She is dedicated to helping every child reach their fullest potential and communicative goals to promote confidence and independence within the environment. Most importantly, she is devoted to creating a supportive environment and fostering meaningful relationships to encourage every child's success.
